It’s a place
for your child, if you suspect or have been told by a professional that your
daughter or son has a developmental delay, including autism or a sensory
integration disorder.
It’s a place where a knowledgeable and nurturing team of experts knows that - whatever special needs he or she may have - each and every child is gifted, with numerous strengths to draw on.
That’s the premise we start with in evaluating and treating children from infancy through age 5, and it’s a premise we always keep in sight - whether we are seeing your child at our state-of-the-art clinics in Chicago or Elmwood Park, your home, school and other community sites, where we also offer therapeutic services.
A Place for Children serves a wide range of children with special needs, many of whom have cerebral palsy, Down’s Syndrome or general developmental delays, as well as autism or sensory integration disorders.
Whatever
brings children to us, we know that they can benefit from early identification
and early intervention. That’s why we make early identification easy for parents
who suspect their child may have a delay, with a free preliminary evaluation. We
can also assist you in connecting with all of the resources and services you and
your child might need, including therapeutic services provided by the State of
Illinois, if your child is under age 3.
At A Place for Children, our state-licensed therapists will tailor a therapy program to the specific needs of your child, drawing on a comprehensive range of evaluation and treatment options that include:
